Abstract

Introduction: There are several factors that contribute to the increased risk of falls in elderly people, with cognitive changes standing out. In the current scenario, telehealth enables the remote transmission of care and provides innovative solutions for the provision of health services. However, reliable assessment tools are needed to promote the prevention and tracking of modifiable risk factors for falls on an individualized basis. It is noted that there is still a lack of evidence on the reliability and validity of these assessments. Objective: To verify the intra- and inter-rater reliability of cognitive batteries adapted in a remote format for elderly people with a history of recurrent falls in the home environment. Method: An intra- and inter-rater reliability study will be carried out at two assessment moments (after 16 and 22 weeks), developed within a single-center, single-blind, parallel-group trial composed of an Intervention Group (IG) and a Control Group (CG). Inter-rater reliability will be analyzed synchronously versus asynchronously, while intra-rater reliability will be analyzed synchronously versus synchronously and asynchronously. The sample consisted of elderly individuals with a recurrent history of falls who participated in the MAGIC Program of the Federal University of São Carlos-UFSCar. Expected results: It is hypothesized that cognitive tests present good reliability when performed remotely in elderly individuals.
