Abstract

AIs are already present in everyday life, through recommendation, editing and, more recently, image and video generation algorithms. The mass dissemination of these tools' causes, in addition to the automation of the production of moving images, significant effects that must be considered to contribute to digital literacy and the debate on art, creativity and AI. This project deals with a set of Brazilian artistic productions, mapped between 2020 and 2024, whose artists use artificial intelligence tools to generate moving images. The objective is to analyze the aesthetic aspects and weave critical reflections on ethical issues based on the study of the creative processes of these art productions and produce a series of 03 experimental exercises with moving images, using AI tools. To this end, qualitative research will be carried out, based on a descriptive exploratory study. The categories and concepts used as the basis for critical reflection on the ethical and aesthetic aspects of the mapped works will be developed based on studies on art, ethics, aesthetics and AI by Lev Manovich, Emanuele Arielli, José Ignacio Latorre and Dora Kaufman. The research instruments will be a bibliographic survey, collection of iconographic and videographic data, interviews with artists and documentary analysis. The research will be carried out in two stages: 1st stage: Theoretical and exploratory, which will result in the mapping and study of the mapped works, aesthetic description and critical reflection on ethical aspects and 2nd stage: Practical and applied, which will result in the authorial production of a series of three (03) artistic works - involving moving images, produced by the beneficiary of this project - as a result of experimentation with AI tools such as Vidnoz; FlexClip; PixVerse, and the experience report of the creative process, description of the prompts, and critical reflections on the use of the tool chosen for the experimental exercise. The expected result is a study that presents aesthetic and ethical reflections on the use of AIs for the training of visual artists and the maintenance of artistic works as the fruit of expression and critical thinking.
