Abstract

According to Shonkoff and Bales (2011), beyond disseminating scientific results within the academic community, an important role of science concerns the sharing of knowledge with society, namely public policy decision-makers. The Scientific Journalism scholarships will help the researchers to develop content that disseminates the project's aims and results. Such content will aim to (adapted from Shonkoff & Bales, 2011): a) Reliably translate complex scientific concepts for the general public - including politicians and those who elect them; b) Convey scientific knowledge in an accurate but intelligible way; c) Assist evidence-based decision-making on policies that impact child development. This content will be published on social media, as well as on a web page created for this purpose.
