Abstract

A theoretical-conceptual research project whose purpose is to critically analyze the conception of perception in Merleau-Ponty, seeking to identify the possibilities of articulation between questions related to perception and imagination in his work. Specific objectives: to investigate the Merleau-Pontian conception of perception, with an emphasis on the study of the figure-ground relationship; to discuss the approximations established by Merleau-Ponty between perception and language; to examine the notion of the body schema as an articulator of expressive functions; and to evaluate the possibility of understanding the latencies of the visible in terms of the imaginary.
