Abstract

The production of public statistics in the digital era requires innovative methodological and technological approaches to handle large volumes of high-frequency data. The Center for Data Science in Public Statistics (CCDEP) addresses this challenge by developing innovative solutions with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science applied to indicators that support public policies.The Urban Mobility research line encompasses the use of heterogeneous data, such as telecommunications and electronic ticketing records, as a way to complement official transportation statistics, providing more frequent, comprehensive, and low-cost data on mobility in municipalities of São Paulo State. The project proposes using these large volumes of automated data, integrated with geoprocessing techniques, geographic databases, to support transportation planning, and operations by the state government and local municipalities, enabling more precise and territorially contextualized spatial analyses.
