Abstract

The project aims to carry out a broad mapping of spaces dedicated to the exhibition of "popular art" in Brazil-galleries, museums, and others-in order to outline a cartography of these circuits, attentive to their distribution over time and space, as well as to their profiles, the individuals responsible for their creation and operation, and their modes of action. The mapping should include both public and private institutions, as well as museums and/or exhibition spaces created by artists and artisans in their places of origin and work, which have proliferated throughout Brazil, such as Véio's site in the backlands of Sergipe.
