Abstract The aim of this post-doctoral project consists, firstly, of comparing different versions, analyzing, translating and commenting, with a view to a possible publication, of the plays that make up D. H. Lawrence's Eastwood Trilogy, still unpublished and not performed in Brazil: The Widowing of Mrs. Holroyd; A Collier's Friday Night; and The Daughter-in-Law. The study will focus on three areas which will help to make D.H. Lawrence's works better known in Brazil: scholars with potential interest in English cultural production and, more specifically, in Lawrence's writings; Brazilian readers, whose language barrier prevents access to the original plays; and performers, who have the means and specific skills to perform Lawrence's three texts in Brazilian theatres. | |
