Abstract

1.106 / 5.000The fellow will monitor activities related to the development of ongoing research under the theme: "Structural and Biological Evaluation of Metal Complexes with Hydrazide Ligands and Their Derivatives," whose principal investigators are Prof. Dr. Javier Ellena and Dr. Alexandre Bizzotto de Carvalho. This research project focuses on the development of metal complexes from hydrazide ligands and their derivatives, with the aim of obtaining new bioactive compounds that are drug candidates for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases. The new complexes will be characterized using powder X-ray diffraction, vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR and Raman), nuclear magnetic resonance, thermal analysis (TGA and DSC), and mass spectrometry. In addition to these techniques, single-crystal X-ray diffraction will be used to analyze the complexes that form suitable crystals, an essential technique for the structural elucidation of the new compounds and, consequently, for aiding in the understanding of their physicochemical properties.
