Abstract

The aim of this project is to develop some of the main themes of my doctoral research, which involves conducting ethnographic research among the Buia-Tapuya, a small people group in the northwestern Amazon. In this project, I seek to explore their position in the system of reciprocal considerations expressed among the people group of the Tukano linguistic family of the Uaupés River. So far, I have sought to highlight their trajectory within this extensive social network, as well as to explore the way in which they themselves and their neighbors describe the origin of theirs position and current conditions of reproduction and insertion in the exogamy regime that marks regional sociality. During the internship at the Laboratoire d'anthropologie sociale under the supervision of Olivier Allard, I intend to deepen my knowledge of current discussions on kinship and relationships of regard in the Amazon, based on my ethnographic data and specialized literature. Thus, I intent to explore the bibliography that has been produced and discussed in France and elsewhere on these themes, without neglecting the reflections of the classic authors who have contributed to this area of study. The internship is also proposed to broaden the regional ethnographic dialogue and other topics of mutual interest to the parties involved (doctoral student, internship supervisor abroad, and thesis advisor), in addition to improving the writing of the doctoral thesis and establishing links with researchers abroad.
