Abstract

Fellowship dedicated to the study of cognitive frailty, a new term describing the presence of cognitive impairment and physical frailty in the absence of significant neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular lesions. The research to be developed will investigate the presence of structural brain lesions using magnetic resonance imaging in participants aged 70 or older from ELSA-Brasil with cognitive frailty, compared to those without cognitive frailty. Activities will involve data analysis and interpretation, scientific article production, and co-supervision of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students. The candidate must demonstrate advanced knowledge in statistics and psychometrics (including longitudinal models), epidemiology and aging, as well as cognition and the use of cognitive tests. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong scientific publication record, being the first author of at least ten articles published in indexed journals. Applicants should submit their CV, a statement of purpose (maximum 3,000 characters) demonstrating their scientific connection to this research line, and two recommendation letters. The position is open to both Brazilian and international applicants. The selected candidate will receive a two-year fellowship. (AU)
