Abstract

The project aims to update the Scale of Interests in Areas of Psychology (EIAPsi), a tool used to assess the preferences of psychology students and professionals regarding different fields of practice. The EIAPsi measures interest in 11 areas of psychology through 90 items: Clinical, Health, Educational, Organizational, Social, Psychological Assessment, Teaching, Traffic, Sports, Legal, and Neuropsychology. With the recent publication of CFP Resolution No. 03/2022, which updates and defines new items were created to include the missing specialties and to enhance content coverage for the other areas; these items were reviewed by expert judges. The preliminary version will be administered to 30 students to assess item clarity. In Stage 2, 500 psychology students over the age of 18, enrolled at a private university in the interior of São Paulo, will participate. They will complete a sociodemographic questionnaire, the EIAPsi-2, the 18REST (RIASEC interests), and the Big Five Inventory (BFI-2 - Big Five personality traits). Upon ethics approval, data collection will take place in classrooms using a digital format. Data analysis will include descriptive statistics, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Cronbach's alpha for reliability, and Pearson correlations with the RIASEC and Big Five to provide evidence of validity.
