Abstract

In the context of the student's Masters work on extensions of the standard model, his stay at Kavli Institute for Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (IPMU) of the University of Tokyo, will ad new dimension to the student's Masters project: that of cosmological observables of these theories. Prof. Elisa G. M. Ferreira is a world leading expert in various topics tying cosmology and its observables to extensions of the standard model of particle physics and of cosmology itself. In particular, her expertise on light and ultralight dark matter and its observables is a great opportunity for Lincoln to expand the horizons of his knowledge. The goal of the project is to explore the connections between dark matter, baryogenesis and cosmological observables, including those stemming from cosmological phase transitions. Under the supervision of Prof. Ferreira, and possibly including collaborations with other experts in the Kavli IPMU, the goal is for the student to broaden his experience in a subject part of his Master's dissertation.
