Abstract

The Ethyl esters of fatty acids have diverse applications: solvent, clean energy and chemical spreaders. In this work, we intend to investigate on how to use natural oils with a focus on Bioenergy, leaving aside other possible applications. Thus, the research refers to the use of vegetable oils in reactions of synthesis of fatty acid esters by transesterification with alkaline catalysis in the Route Ethanol, but not the classic mode and conventional. A laboratory will be operated procedures for synthesis on a device featuring a hydrodynamic enhancement (in controlled environments) in the form of turbine self-shearing, and cause micro-implosions by input of mechanical energy due to pressure differences and strong turbulent flow, in addition, and concomitantly, also generates waves of ultrasound autocisalhantes Sonicanta, which also act so as to cause micro-controlled implosions. Both phenomena are hydrodynamic effects that cause cleavage molecular micro-and nano-scale molecular so predictable, controllable and usable. The key device is the opposite of the large-scale race that takes place on Bioenergy, and this little device has outlets for small diameter where the molecules of alcohol and oil are mixed in highly turbulent flow with the multiplication of meetings, resulting interactions much faster. There has been interest in evaluating the hydrodynamic system so extensive and intensive chemical reactions to produce fatty acid ethyl esters, assessing also their potential semi-continuous mode, allowing to investigate new methods of synthesis using the non-food vegetable oils transesterification to a more rational, economical and ecological. The results to be obtained will evaluate the efficiency of autoclivagem operating conditions on a small scale (laboratory), allowing you to check the effects of catalysis (reduction of quantity of catalyst) and evaluation of the properties of transésteres end so as to allow the check potential to explore - in the future - the reaction system for further processing chemical plants.
