Abstract

Knowing that human actions are an important part of the causes of climate change, we must look to the buildings as they are one of the most responsible for energy, about 25 to 45% of energy consumed by improperly misdirection of the building and inadequate design of their facades, therefore, we should rethink and explore ways to minimize these wastes. Brazil has still a great lack of rules and laws in this context. This research is to make a survey and analysis of the proposals being discussed at the national and the parameters used for certification of energy efficiency and the study of existing public policies since the 80s in Europe and USA. Designing with this discussion on the feasibility of implementing similar policies in Brazil. When these data were aimed at the identification of different responses to certified projects considering the origin of the certification and in bio-climate which is inserted. Since the housing market has used the term "sustainable" and "green" as marketing appeal, it is necessary to deepen the knowledge and dissemination of the certification processes that are being deployed in the country. It is also expected to draw a historical evolution of the process of assessing the sustainability of buildings pointing out the public policies necessary for its development and deployment. (AU)
