Abstract

The civil construction industry is one of the main sources of pollution emission due to the high energy consumption in the life cycle of its products, in other words, the buildings and works of art. One of the internationally most highly regarded methods of evaluation both material and energy consume, and therefore, the environmental impact of a certain product is the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). Nevertheless, there is a considerable difficulty on using this method here in Brazil because of the lack of information about material and energy consumes of the civil construction industry’s materials. Taking this into consideration, this project proposes to rise information about the energetics resources consume of the main used offices buildings façades materials, in São Paulo city, in order to set up a database for future studies of LCA for this typical buildings.
