Abstract

Aging is one of the post-modernity characteristics phenomena. In consequence of aged proportion increasement, implementation of services that take care of necessities identified for this population and that allows physical and psychological well being of this age group has became fundamental Leisure and sport resources are fundamental aspects when considering quality of life improvement of a group. Knowledge of existent resources is a very important aspect as their proper availability, consequently a leisure and sports services and resources assessment for aged in Santos City is required. Proposed assessment development aims to help in three different dimensions of society: community, university and city general offices. Regarding to community, the assessment will allow existing resources for aged in the Santos city knowledgment, furthermore, it will help in the access of these services and improve quality of life of the investigated group. Concerning to the university, mainly Federal University of São Paulo, the assessment will help to identify possible places for traineeships development, research and extension. Therefore, it will make students from graduating and after-graduating courses have a better formation. In fact, focusing general offices dimensions, it will be possible to know about existing resources and identification of necessities to implement resources as well. Indeed, general offices could be able to identify which services would be more interesting to be implemented. (AU)
