Abstract

This study has as general objective to evaluate the elements of the structure, process and result of the collection of the heel prick test in a District Basic Unit (UBDS) of the Municipal Health Network (SMS) at Ribeirão Preto. Non-parametric tests will be used for the statistical analysis of the quantitative data collected from secondary source contained in the monthly reports of the test collection room. A documental analysis of the official documents of the Municipal Health Secretary of the Health Ministry about the Neonatal Screening such as laws, norms, and protocols for the functioning of the test collection room will be performed. The qualitative data will be analyzed by the content of the interviews performed with mothers, which will be recorded and transcribed.
