Abstract

In this project we intend to study the effect of additions of 1, 2 and 3 wt.%Ag in the thermomechanical behavior of the Cu-11wt.%Al, using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), optical and scanning electronic microscopy, X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), microhardness measurements with temperature and time and tension/compression tests. The results will allow the analysis of the influence of Ag concentration on the martensitic transformation induced by cooling and mechanical stress, and the occurrence of martensitic stabilization.
