Abstract

IAG-USP is presently studying seismicity induced by deep water wells in Bebedouro, SP. The student determines epicenters to study the seismicity evolution. Absolute hypocentral errors are a few hundred meters, which does not allow the identification of individual fractures and small faults. We aim at using waveform cross-correlation between different events recorded at the same station to improve the relative hypocenter locations. The double difference method (HYPODD program) will be used to better identify the orientation of small fractures and faults contributing to better understand the mechanisms of the induced seismicity.
