Abstract

Aware of in many orthodontics treatment, the extraction of permanent teeth are planed and that occlusion is quoted like one of the responsible factor to relapse of extraction site space, this study will asses the influence of occlusion characteristics in relapse of extraction sites, using for this the osthodontics identies of 60 patients treated with fixed braces, Edgewise mechanics and extraction of 4 first premolar teeth, whose orthodontic tratment had been finished at least 5 years before. The sample will be divided in two groups in accordance with the presence of relapse or not of extraction site spaces. Group 1 will include 30 patients presenting the relapse of highers and lowers extracion spaces. Group 2 will include 30 patients without relapse of extraction space. The occlusion characteristics of before and after treatment phase and after retention phase will be assessed for calculated scores by PAR index. The difference between the initial and final values of PAR index will be calculated to express the improvement of the treatment, From this measurement there is also going to be, this percentual of improvement expressed by PAR index. The data will be statistically valued using “t” test to research possible differences between these 2 groups.
