Abstract Both urban and rural areas, concentrations of ozone in the lower atmosphere have been increasing globally at a rate of 1.5% per year. With high oxidative power, this pollutant poses some challenges for plants. P. guajava 'Paluma' is a tropical species recognized as bioindicators of ozone, showing leaf injuries described as interveinal red marks on the surface of the leaf adaxial; P. guajava 'Pedro Sato' has no injuries when exposed to ozone. In this way,it aims to assess the amount and composition of anthocyanins, of cuticular wax and the profile of gene expression when these two cultivars are exposed to ozone. | |
