Abstract

The dissemination of multiresistant enterobacteria is a problem of great importance in patients not only hospitalized, as well as in community patients, although the transmission mechanisms have been little understood. The aim of this study is to investigate the mechanism of resistance for loss of protein of external membrane in enterobacteria with decreased susceptibility to quinolonas. Fifty eight enterobacteria isolated of clinical sample of hospitalized patients or from community of two Brazilian cities will be evaluated. They will be enclosed in the study samples that had demonstrated reduction of susceptibility to nalidixic acid (NAL). The epidemiologic characterization of the studied bacteria will be made by the analysis of the fragments of macrorestriction after pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) and typing for sequencing of multilocus (MLST).
