Abstract

The goal is to evaluate the electrochemical performance of boron-doped diamond electrodes, as well as the effect of electrochemical pre-treatments of these electrodes, in the oxidation of simulated wastewaters containing the Orange Reactive 16 dye, comparing such performance with the one for the oxidative method by ozonization. The wastewater color and chemical oxygen demand will be monitored throughout the electrolysis and the ozonization, so as to characterize whether its decolorization and degradation occur, respectively, and at what degrees. A one-compartment filter-press electrochemical reactor will be used in the electrolyses of the simulated wastewaters.
