Abstract

In this project, the student will study and characterize the fundamental parameters of the narrow-band filter set bought to equip the SOAR near infrared camera SPARTAN. This study will be carried out through the use of the IRAF package synphot and the transmission curves delivered by the manufacturer. Critical parameters, like bandwidth, transmission, central wavelength and photometrical zero point among others, will be obtained in the this eight months project.
