Bioprospection of antifungal activity to phytopathogens in extracts of cerrado native plants.

Abstract

Some cerrado plants are known by possessing medicinal properties and others for being toxic to the men and the animals. As they can be beneficial or maleficent to the animals, they can also have effect on the phatogens of plants. In this work 10 cerrado plants had been selected, of which it knows anticipatedly that they possess some medicinal effect and or toxic, described for research or popular indications. Of these plants leves and chemical preparations will be collected watery and hydroalcoholic extracts. The effect of extracts in the micelial growth and the germination of fungal spores Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Corynespora cassiicola will be evaluated. For the extracts that more than to inhibit 70% of the micelial growth and/or the germination of spores will be determined the concentration accomplishes and the lethal dose, respectively, for inhibitions of 50% of micelial growth and 50% of the germination of spores of the two fungals. With these results one expects to select plants that contain antifungals substances and, later with other studies to get new products for the control of phytopathogens.
