Abstract

We are in a period where cosmology is quickly developing, both observationally and theoretically, and increasingly attracting other areas attention. Our purpose is to analyze the viability of modified gravity models as a solution to the cosmological problems; focusing on metric-affine gravity (MAG) and multi-gravity models. Besides their intrinsic value, they appear as effective models of other theories, including higher dimensional gravity (brane-worlds), massive spin 2 particles theories and theories with non-commutative geometry.
