Abstract The existence of social mobility, even associated with some inequality, allows people to apply their talents in the best way, stimulating the innovation, the study and the work, mainly because the waited return is high. Thus, the present project has the objective of measuring the degree of social mobility of the "Unidades de Federação" and "Grandes Regiões" in Brazil, supplying information about the individuals of determined regions and of determined domiciliary unit as a way of comparison. The used method is based on the regression of "schooling gap" (lost years of education) and uses the decomposition of Fielts to determine the importance of family background (education of the parents and familiar income) in the determination of "schooling gap" of adolescents. It will be used as survey dada the "Pesquisa Nacional por Amostras de Domicílios" (PNAD). | |
