Abstract

The aim of the study will be to evaluate Tanaka & Johnston regression equation on reproducibility of canines, upper and lower premolars measure predictions in 3D images. Thirty plaster models will be randomly selected, according the inclusion criterios: 1) Presence of permanent teeth in both maxilares; 2)Teeth without caries or restaurations 3) No previous orthodontic treatments. The measurements will be performed using two instruments: 1- Digital paquimeter (Mitutoyo Digimatic®, Mitutoyo UK Ltd)and 2-O3d system (widialabs©).The plaster models will be scanned to obtain a three-dimensional image. The software will register the mesio distal measures of lower incisors and canines and premolares from both archs. The lower incisors mesio distal sum will be used in the linear regression equation to pretict the premolars and canines size. The obtained prevision values will be compared to real tooth sizes in dental cast and 3D images.
