Abstract

When designing a planning system, an important part is the definition of the goal that such a system should pursue. Often, this goal can not be configured a priori, but must be configured according to the preferences of a particular user. Preference Elicitation studies how to describe objectives which satisfy a user preferences. One particular issue that should be considered is the type of objectives used in the planning system and type of objectives used in the preference elicitation process. Extended Reachability Goals and Reinforcements Functions are two paradigms of objective description, that, usually, are treated separately. This project aims to combine these two paradigms in order to increase the expressiveness of objectives and allow a more reliable extraction of the user preferences. This project contributes to achieving some of the objectives of project "LogProb: Probabilistic Logic - fundamentals and computer applications."
