Abstract

This project has as main objective to study the properties of carriers confined in single and coupled quantum ring nanostructures. In particular, we will focus on the dynamics of the carriers, including spin-dependent properties and electron-phonon interactions. We will also investigate how the geometry and the presence of external fields affect the carrier behavior. Furthermore, we will study theoretically optical properties and related phenomena, i.e. photoluminescence and electroluminescence, in order to make comparison with recent experimental results.
