Abstract

The objective of this project is to implement an intelligent system for automatic adjustment of parameters of an edge detector, to obtain optimal edges of a digital image. The system to be developed should automate the process of setting the parameters by means of an intelligent system based on genetic algorithms. The adjustment of these parameters will use the information for the quantitative assessment of the edges obtained at different steps. The quantitative evaluation will be conducted through quantitative measures for the optimal setting of edges. These measures are obtained by comparing the edges generated by the detector edges with the edges of reference (ground truth).
