Abstract

The Project is aimed to study how the structural and dynamic properties of mesoscopic system of strongly interacting charges depend on: i) the reduced dimensionality of the system; ii) the shape of the confinement (parabolic or hard-wall); iii) the infuence of static or time-dependent external fields; iv) the presence of constraints or constrictions; and v) the coexistence of two different interating particle species. In particular we will do this by studying the dependence of transport properties, as mobility and I-V characteristic, on the size, shape and dimensionality of the confining structure. We will also calculate the differential conductivity and the voltage-current fluctuations. These properties are routinely measured in experimental systems. (AU)
