Abstract

The City of Ilha Comprida is located on the southern coast of São Paulo, mostly in fluvio-marine lowland areas, in which dominate the processes of erosion and progradation of the ocean and the Ribeira River, that makes the region a fragile zone, because of constant movement and instability of the materials that form the coastal plain as an environmental system. In view of the physical dynamics presented in the study area, this project has scientific initiation in order to study the geomorphological compartments of Ilha Comprida, through the identification and analysis, from the characterization of morphological and morphometric parameters of relief. The final product will gain greater understanding of the dynamics of physical agents of the study area to assist in discussion of the use of territorial planning and land use on the site, besides serving as a support for environmental preservation in the APA's council of Ilha Comprida.
