Abstract

ABSTRACTFamily farmers have used several strategies intending to improve income generation without modify in significant way their way of life. This research intends to carry through an analysis of the differentiated commercialization strategies of the family farmers of the Andradina microregion, São Paulo State, such as the sale without intermediation to the retail and/or the consumer of in natura products, processed or with some other type of value aggregation, of individual or collective form, as well as the production strategies that aim at to legitimize this differentiated insertion (agroecologycal production systems, alternative practices that reduces or eliminates the use of chemical inputs, homemade or artisan production). Questionnaires will be applied to the family farmers, to the retailing sailors and the consumers of this microregion, aiming to characterize these differentiated production and commercialization forms and to analyze the effect of the public politics, of the presence or absence of representative organizations of the farmers and the market conventional mechanisms. The analysis of these experiences will be able to contribute for the formularization of innovative proposals that incorporate protection mechanisms, stimulates the family farmers organization and valorize their products which express different knowledge and processes.
