Abstract

The sheep has been increasing emphasis on agribusiness, transforming the stage production of Brazil, however there is still a great shortage of information regarding the epidemiology of diseases as well as the health conditions of the sheep herd. Although, I find it is the implementation phase of the National Program of Health Goats and sheep that came to meet the needs of farmers and vets involved in this creation. Therefore this study aims to: Check the occurrence of brucellosis in sheep herds in the northwestern region of São Paulo state by samples of smooth and rough Brucella; verify the occurrence of leptospirosis in sheep herds in the northwestern region of São Paulo state and which the most prevalent serovars in the region and to determine the sanitary and epidemiological conditions of the flock of sheep in the region northwest of Sao Paulo. The occurrence of brucellosis in sheep flocks in the region northwest of the state shall be determined from the performance of serological tests with buffered acidified antigen (AAT) and 2-Mercaptoethanol (2-ME) for smooth samples and the gel immunodiffusion agar (AGID) for samples of rough Brucella. To verify the occurrence of leptospirosis in sheep herds in the northwestern region of São Paulo state will be used to prove microscopic agglutination (MAT).
