Abstract

The shoe industry generates a large amount of waste, being part of these of poly [(ethylene)-co-(vinyl acetate)] (EVA), a polymer widely used in the form of plates expanded thermosets. The residue devulcanization is presented as an alternative that may allow its use again as a raw material in the shoe industry. The objective of this project is characterize the wastes of EVA from the shoe industry and perform tests to devulcanize the waste in order to produce a material closer to the virgin one and make possible a new application.
