Development of strategies catalytic and selective for depolymerization and deoxygenation of lignocellulosic biomass is challenging due to complex structure of lignocellulosic material, particularly for recalcitrant of lignin owing to the hydrolysis of its phenolic ethers. The proposed research aims to design synthesis and characterization of solid catalysts derived from hydrotalcite composed of oxides whose general formula is Mg6Al2 (CO3)(OH)16*4(H2O) containing the modifying elements Ag, Cu, Fe, La, Nb or Ni applied in the reform of ethanol for the production of H2 in supercritical state at temperatures ranging from 280 to 320ºC with pressures above 62 atm. As a result of dehydrogenation of ethanol, a variety of value-added secondary compounds are formed via a process called Guerbet reaction whose products are also investigated in terms of the selectivity of the catalysts. Along with this process, it will investigate the deconstruction of lignocellulosic material (bagasse) by catalytic hydrogenation, in the same reactor, using the H2 generated in the reforming of ethanol, which results in phenolic monomeric units derived from lignin with different levels of saturation and oxygenation, and cellulose and hemicellulose derivatives alcohols for use as fuel or intermediates for the chemical industry.
