Abstract

Through the interpretative and iconographic analysis of a religious party that celebrate the 50 years of the Bolivian immigration to Brazil which happened in 2007 in the Memorial da América Latina, it is proposed to describe the existing elements in these pictures and read what those images say about its subject. These parties represent relevant moments in the life of these specific social group, especially because there are rituals of gods venerations, reiterating the musical and corporal traditions, where the identities, social-economical differences and stigmas states themselves. The photographic image is a studie resource that carries in itself the spectrum aspect, a reference and the experience of the perspective of the look. This material has its own rhetoric and therefore it is a symbolic system that not only represents, but also communicate directly to the viewer. Thus, the images contribute as a document for the knowledge of a series of subjects and symbolic elements where these festivities are involved for this particular immigrant group in the way that it is considered as an object that presents and implies through its visible components, such as through its obtuse elements (BARTHES; 1990), which builds the image rhetoric.
