Abstract The aim of the present in vitro work is to evaluate the storage medium and brushing effects on mechanical properties of experimental Bis-GMA-based dental resins. Bis-GMA monomer will be mixed with TEGDMA (BT) or CH3BisGMA (BCH3) or CF3Bis-GMA (BCF3) monomers in a ratio of 30/70 mol%. To allow photo-curing, 0.2%wt of camphorquinone and N,N dimethyl-p-toluidine will be added to the comonomer mixtures. Specimens will be fabricated with each resin and the following tests will be made: toothbrushing abrasion, microhardness and roughness alterations and flexural strength. Mechanical properties will be evaluated before and after immersion (30 days) in different storage mediums: 1. artificial saliva; 2. artificial saliva in ethanol 75% and 3. artificial saliva containing cholesterol esterase. Data will be submitted to normality and homogeneity tests prior the selection of the appropriated statistical analysis (± = 0.05). | |
