Abstract

The interest in the area of Social Skills Education Parental is increasing over time, due to the link that exists between children's inappropriate behaviors and deficits in parents' social skills, as inconsistent discipline, little positive interaction, tracking down and insufficient supervision the children activities. Thus, parents influence in the behaviors repertoire development that provide the child positive interpersonal relations. After a review made available in the literature on studies that compare procedures, noticed a gap in relation to studies comparing the time of application for intervention. This study is to compare two main objective procedures to intervene with parents who differ only in relation to the time they were administered: once a week in the first group, and twice in the second. Were used as instruments of the Roadmap, Interview Skills Social Parental Education (RHSE-P, adaptation of Bolsoni-Silva, 2003) and the Social Skill Inventory (IHS - Del Prette, 2001). The intervention was conducted through of 20 sessions of training and strengthening of social skills, with 28 parents / caregivers who enrolled in the program, divided into two groups. The sessions addressed basic social skills in the relationship between participants and their children, as skills of communication, expression of views, feelings, positive and negative, knowledge of basic human rights, capabilities to deal with criticism and admit their own mistakes and establishing limits.
