Abstract

Increase energy density of the diet, by supplementation with fat is a nutritional strategy that can be used in the cattle fattening, with satisfactory performance. This study will evaluate the effect of different lipid sources on the dynamic transit of neutral detergent fiber. The lipid sources are soybean, linseed oil, palm oil, and Megalac-E. The experiment 1 is in development, conducted between September/2009 and March/2010. Are being used 5 cannulated animals, distributed in a latin square and supplementated with 0.5% of body weight during the transitory season (dry/rainy) and rainy season. In experiment 2, to be held in April 2010, in the dry season, 10 cannulated animals will be distributed in a double latin square and provided with supplementation of 1.0% of body weight. Ytterbium acetate is used as a marker of neutral detergent fiber for measurement of dynamic events transit fiber in the digestive tract of cattle.
