Abstract

Study of the different historiographical approaches the Roteiro do Maranhão a Goiás pela Capitania do Piauí, written by an anonymous author of the eighteenth century and published by RIHGB. The document is a source for works studying the colonial period. However, it has still many points to be analyzed and discussed, contributing to studies on colonial Brazil and to the historical constitution of the captaincy of northeastern Brazil.
