Abstract

The Raman spectroscopy technique jointly with magnetization, specific heat and resistivity experiments could be very useful to study the physical properties of biomolecules as aminoacids, proteins, and DNA. From these properties could be possible to understand the mechanism of several pathologies, in special the cancerous process. In this project we propose the systematic analysis of three human tissues DNA extraction protocols (DNA commercial kits of Qiagen and Invitrogen and in house method of Phenol-Chloroform) with objective of: (I) evaluate the influence of the residual protocols reagents on the physical properties, specially the Raman spectra; (II) quantify the performance of the extraction; and (III) optimize and/or implement new extraction protocol fitting the proposed needs.
