Abstract

Organic and inorganic hybrid composites have been widely investigated due to their potential applications in nanotechnology. The synthesis of metallic nanoparticles, which can be occurs in the presence of polymeric molecules, represents a new pathway in order to obtain nanocomposites with applications in sensors, photonic, etc. One advantage of polyelectrolyte-stabilized nanoparticles is that multilayer films can be prepared by the layer-by-layer technique, where molecular ordering and thickness of the films can be tuned. In this project, magnetic and metallic nanoparticles stabilized by polyelectrolytes and dendrimers will be prepared. The focus of this work will be the nanocomposite synthetic route optimization and its characterization by using electrochemical, spectroscopic, microscopic techniques.
