Abstract

The problem of microbial contamination of water reservoirs in dental units has been worrying more and more health professionals, it is the second largest source of contamination dental. Through these biofilm micro-organisms become increasingly resistant making it difficult to exterminate. The aim of this study is to quantify total bacteria and yeasts present in water reservoirs, Laboratory of Dentistry, Endodontics and Dental Materials, School of Dentistry multipurpose Bauru - USP, and check the use of ultrasound is effective for the reduction or elimination of these micro-organisms. Also interesting is the identification of bacteria and yeast to verify their pathogenicity. (AU)
