Abstract

The project objective is the development of PP/EPDM blend, using a recycled EPDM from autoparts industry rejects. The rubber will be devulcanized by microwaves and, subsequently, extruded with PP, during which dynamic vulcanization of the rubber will be done. The resulting material will be characterized in terms of its composition and its mecanic, chemical and thermal resistance, seeking a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) that must combine thermoplastic processing facilities with elastomer mechanical properties.
