Abstract

In the Single Health System, the Occupational Health area, due to its complexity, requires the work of multiprofessional teams with competencies for actions ranging from health promotion to rehabilitation of people affected by occupational health problems. This study aims to identify the profile and the role of the professionals working at Regional Referral Centers for Occupational Health (CEREST) in Sao Paulo State. In this exploratory research, data will be collected by means of a questionnaire elaborated by the authors, which will be sent to the 41 CEREST in the State, by e-mail or common mail. The project was submitted to the Research Ethics Committee at the University of Sao Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing for evaluation. The CEREST will receive a Free and Informed Consent Term together with the questionnaire for data collection, which will occur between December 2007 and January 2008. Data will be treated by simple frequency calculation and discussed in the framework of Occupational Health and the current Brazilian Occupational Health Policy.
