Abstract

It is known that the urban environment alters the balance of energy between the surface and atmosphere, causing changes in temperature, relative humidity, among other things, opening up space for studies aimed to urban climatology. Based on the theme Urban climate, this research focuses on the city of Assis, located west of the State of São Paulo. The generation of the urban climate is a result of several factors, among them are: the use and occupation of the land differently, the thermodynamic properties of buildings, the number of buildings in the urban network, the socioeconomic activities, etc.. In general, this causes the temperature increase and reduction of air humidity, providing thermal discomfort. The rural environment provides a comparison for studies to this issue, by presenting different characteristics in relation to the structure, morphology and urban functionality. The main objective of this study is to investigate the characteristics of temperature and humidity of the air in environments with land uses and different occupations, one inserted into the urban fabric of Assis and the other in the rural environment to verify whether there is evidence of changes in the elements climate because of urbanization. For data collection will use mini-weather stations that record data from temperature and air humidity. For analysis of the results will be comparisons made between data obtained in the city and the countryside, producing graphics application using EXCEL to tabulate the data and also used the application to SURFER for Windows spatialization results.
