Abstract

The hand is one of the most functional organs of the body. Its anatomy allows, together with the fist, perform different movements. Any change in the synergism committed to hold power. Knowing the behavior of the timing between the extensor muscles of wrist and finger flexion in normal subjects to understand the pathological changes hold in different clinical conditions. Surface electromyography provides such an analysis, since it is possible to check the electrical signals from the superficial muscles that are activated when performing certain movements. The range of motion of the wrist can be quantified with the use of electrogoniometer, when performing the maximum grip strength. This allows an increase in knowledge about this function. It will be included female subjects, healthy, between eighteen and thirty years of hand dominance. Muscle activity will be analyzed using surface electromyography during execution of the hold using a dynamometer grip with the right arm by three maximal isometric contractions, held for six seconds, performed in three consecutive days. The movement of the wrist joint will be measured with electrogoniometer, where the values found are correlated with amplitude of electromyographic signal. (AU)
