Abstract

One-line diagrams are one of useful tools for supporting power engineers both in planning and operation monitoring of a power grid. The rapid evolving of graphics resources and visualization techniques has risen the interests in algorithms that automatically generate legible system one-line diagrams since the end of 90s of the last century. Our proposal is to implement three algorithms that have been presented in the related literature and to analyze their performance comparatively. Our long-term goal is to apply the obtained results in the implementation of a graphic interactive interface to the short-term operation planning of a power system, which is under development in the context of a thematic project funded by Fapesp (Proc. No. 2004/14531-9) and leaded by Prof. Secundino Soares Filho.
